Buying A Bank Owned Property Or A Government Owned Property Is Not Like Buying Normal Real Estate!!!
Bank-Owned and Government-Owned homes are typically referred to as REO's (Real Estate Owned). Since the process for locating these homes and submitting bids is different than the traditional real estate process, It can be helpful to work with real estate professionals who are knowledgeable about purchasing REO properties. You will be working closely with this person, so it is important that you find someone you feel comfortable with and who is attuned to your specific needs and situation. To submit a bid on a HUD (Government-Owned) property the offer must come from a real estate professional who is currently registered with the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development. To submit a bid on a Bank-Owned (REO) property, the bid must come from a real estate professional who is currently licensed to sell property in the state in which the property is located.
